Our Intensive Outpatient treatment is a key step in long-term recovery. Therapies and treatments in this program are provided at Chicago Rehab Center, but patients live at home throughout the duration of treatment, with access to the routine of work and family.
In addition to addressing substance use, patients can also receive support in other areas such as disordered eating, depression, or anxiety under the guidance of mental health professionals. This is an ideal level of care for individuals who need more support than normal outpatient programs provide.
Outpatient Services: What is the Purpose of Wilmette IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)?
The purpose of Intensive Outpatient Programs is addiction treatment that helps individuals incorporate healthy routines into their daily lives. Since IOP is an outpatient program, individuals are able to live at home while receiving treatments and attending therapy sessions. Clients will participate in individual, group therapy, and family therapy. We also provide specific modern therapies that are evidence-based and take a whole-person approach to treatment, rather than treating a symptom.
What is an Intensive Outpatient Program?
Intensive Outpatient care and programs are treatment services for those who would benefit from a moderate level of support. IOP treatment takes place 3 times per week for 3 to 5 hours each day. Most clients participate in the program for 1 to 2 months, depending on their specific needs.
IOP treatment programs with CRC are effective for both adolescents and adults. IOP can treat substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. These can include (but are not limited to) depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. The specific approach of IOP is completely customized to the needs of each client, with the overall goal being to help each individual reach long-lasting recovery and wellness through a variety of evidence-based modern and traditional therapies.
During IOP treatment, clients learn how to identify specific triggers, build appropriate coping skills and problem-solving skills, and learn how to improve their self-awareness while recognizing unhealthy behaviors.
