Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a key step in long-term recovery. Therapies and treatments are provided at Chicago Rehab Center, but patients live in their homes throughout the duration of treatment with access to fulfilling work and family obligations. In addition to addressing substance use, patients will also receive support in other areas such as disordered eating, depression, or anxiety.
What is an Intensive Outpatient Program?
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a primary group treatment program for those who would benefit from a moderate level of support. IOP treatment takes place 3 times per week for 3 to 5 hours each day. Most clients participate in the program for 1 to 2 months, depending on their specific needs.
IOP with CRC is an effective treatment program for both young adults and adults. IOP can treat substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. These can include (but are not limited to) depression, anxiety, and bi-polar disorder. The specific approach of IOP is completely customized to the needs of each client, with the overall goal being to help each individual reach long-lasting recovery and wellness through a variety of evidence-based modern and traditional therapies.
During IOP treatment, clients learn how to identify specific triggers, build appropriate coping skills and problem-solving skills, and they learn how to improve their self-awareness while recognizing unhealthy behaviors.
Outpatient Services: What is the Purpose of a Chicago IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)?
The purpose of IOP is to help individuals incorporate healthy routines into their daily lives. Since IOP is an outpatient program, individuals are able to live in their home while receiving treatments and attending therapy sessions. While attending IOP treatment at CRC, clients participate in individual, group therapy, and family therapy. We also provide specific modern therapies that are evidence-based and take a whole-person approach to treatment, rather than treating a symptom.
Chicago Outpatient Services: Which Treatment is Best for Me?
At CRC, patients are provided a comprehensive assessment by both our medical and clinical team. During the assessment process, we will collaboratively discuss treatment options and collectively decide on the best initial level of care and treatment recommendations for you. The goal of treatment recommendations at CRC Institute is to solidify a foundation of long-term recovery.
