After we have all experienced more than two years in a pandemic, the number of people suffering from drug misuse has continued to rise. With misuse often comes pain, suffering, and addiction. Yet, fortunately, there are so many rehab centers and addiction treatment facilities where you can get help. In Chicago alone, there are a variety of great options for addiction treatment. One of the newest Chicago rehabilitation centers is CRC Institute in Lincoln Park. CRC is different from many other substance abuse treatment centers in that it was created to treat the whole person, rather than focusing on only the addiction.

This unique Chicago rehabilitation center believes that individualized programming should include medical, psychological, and spiritual healing in order to best help people recreate their lives. CRC does not believe that they have to fix you and fix your addiction: They believe that they are here to support your journey and to be a part of your whole-person healing.

If you need support, there are many rehab facilities that can help with addiction treatment. But many people do not know what kind of addiction treatment they need. Do they need a detox center in Chicago? A residential treatment center? An outpatient facility like CRC? To understand what may be needed, let’s take a look at some important questions:

What is Drug Addiction Treatment?

Drug addiction treatment is a collaborative process in which you work with professionals who have been trained specifically in dealing with substance abuse. When you join a treatment program for substance misuse, there will be various parts to your treatment plan. One of these will likely include counseling sessions with an expert who specializes in addiction and substance use disorders. An addiction counselor’s goals often include looking at one’s history, triggers, and responses to those various triggers as an integral part of their treatment plan.

There are different types of substance use counseling services and therapies that addiction professionals can use with you, depending on the severity of your substance use and also depending on any related mental health concerns that you may have. Some of those addiction treatment services that you may participate in as part of your substance use treatment may include:

Each type of therapy has a different purpose and may be a part of your rehabilitation program throughout your various stages of treatment. Everyone is different and has different needs for their own individualized care, so it is important to find the right substance use treatment facility. Further, it is important to also find the right combination of therapy that works for you.

How Do I Know If I Even Need Treatment for Addiction?

It can be challenging to be objective and to look at your own situation to determine whether or not you need the help of a Chicago drug treatment center. If you are experiencing substance use issues and if you are seeing that your use is negatively impacting your life, then you may need professional help from a Chicago drug rehab center. Yet, many people do not know how to determine if a problem exists and if they really need addiction treatment.

There are clear signs, however, that can help you to determine if you need the support of a rehab center in Chicago. Some things that you may be experiencing, which may tell you that substance abuse treatment is right for you, include:

  • Your use impacts your relationships
  • Your tolerance levels are increasing
  • You experience constant cravings
  • You lack motivation in your life
  • You are unable to maintain commitments
  • You are experiencing sudden mood shifts
  • You continue using drugs despite negative consequences in your life
  • You are hiding your drug use from others
  • You experience withdrawal symptoms

How Much Does Treatment Cost?

The cost of addiction treatment varies greatly, depending on many factors. First, there are a variety of types of centers, ranging from government-subsidized centers to high-end luxury facilities. Second, you may need round-the-clock medical supervision in a residential addiction treatment center versus needing an outpatient facility where you attend meetings a couple of times a week. The costs can be very high, depending on the amount of care you need. But, there is also a very large range in cost options, and a treatment center that is affordable and right for you can definitely be found.

The key takeaway is this: There is the possibility of healing for anyone and everyone, depending on your needs and your financial circumstances. Some facilities take insurance, offer financial plans, and provide financial assistance. Do your research, consult with an addiction specialist, and find out a treatment program that works within your budget.

How Long Does Rehab Take?

The amount of time that you may spend in a drug rehabilitation center in Chicago depends on the type of program that you need along with the severity of your addiction. Inpatient programs (also known as residential treatment centers) will be much shorter in duration, but they require higher upfront costs and overall daily time commitments. With inpatient treatment, you are living in a drug treatment facility and participating in treatment full time. Outpatient programs, on the other hand, can last much longer depending on the level of care you are receiving every week as you are still living at home and continuing with your day-to-day life.

An inpatient program will often last between one and six months, with most programs lasting from anywhere from 30 days to 90 days. An outpatient program may last between three and 12 months, with most of these programs lasting for about six months. The number of hours that you need to spend in addiction treatment each week is dependent on your overall condition along with the severity of your addiction.

What Does Addiction Treatment Look Like at CRC?

When you engage in substance abuse treatment at CRC, a team of experts will be creating a long-term plan for you. CRC will work with your family, as well, working together toward a continuum of care. With a goal of whole-person healing, the team at CRC aims to provide you with the tools and confidence to travel along a path of sobriety. The treatment program focuses on giving you the necessary foundation for long-term health and recovery.

CRC offers various outpatient treatment programs, meaning that you can remain living in your home while attending programs and services throughout the week. Other facilities may offer inpatient programs, also known as residential treatment, where you live in the facility during your care.

Choosing the appropriate drug treatment program in Chicago is an important decision. Also, deciding between inpatient and outpatient treatment will depend on the intensity of your addiction symptoms along with your history of substance abuse. It is wise to contact different rehab centers in Chicago and ask questions that relate to your own personal experience. Most addiction treatment centers in Chicago will provide you with an evaluation to see what services you may need.
